Ruby Lindsay

Ruby M. Lindsay, 74, of Carlisle, died Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Chapel Pointe, Carlisle.
Born June 24, 1937 in Oakville, she was a daughter of the late John M. and N. Mae Fickes Lindsay.
She was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School. Ruby received her LPN License from Carlisle Hospital. She received specialized training from Duke University Hospital and later received her RN from the Cleveland Clinic. She also worked at the Carlisle Hospital. Ruby retired from the Harrisburg Hospital as a registered nurse. She also worked with the Medical Missions traveling in Thailand, India and Honduras. She enjoyed traveling and working as a nurse on various missions such as a year long trip to India with the Health and Welfare Department. Ruby enjoyed her family and took them all on a cruise to the Caribbean. And for graduation of her nieces and nephews she took them on trips also to foreign countries. The highlights of her year were the Family Christmas Dinner and the yearly Family Reunion.
Surviving are one brother, Donald L. Lindsay (and wife, Mary) of Reigelsville one sister, Cynthia Hotchkiss (and husband, Fred) of Dover, DE. Surviving are also seven nieces, two nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, John G. Lindsay.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Dickinson Presbyterian Church, 12 Church Road, Carlisle with Rev. Jeanette Mater officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Newville. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church.
