Rosalie Betty Smith

Rosalie Betty Smith, 94, of Newville and formerly of Seven Valleys, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Green Ridge Village.
She was born September 14, 1924 in Geneseo, NY to the late John and Mary (Vangalio) Skelly and she was the widow of Roger Lamarr Smith to whom she had been married for 61 years.
Rose honorably served her country in the US Navy during WWII during which time she was stationed in San Diego, CA. She later worked as a main office assistant for Leaders’ Heights Elementary School, in the Dallastown Area School District. Rose was a loving, much treasured wife, mother and grandmother and she is greatly missed.
She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth (husband Mike) McKnight of Carlisle; one son, Steven S. (wife Jodi) Smith of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Matthew (wife Lenore) McKnight of Maryland, Emily M. (husband Michael) College of Pennsylvania, Todd (wife Jamie) Smith of Alabama and Ryan Smith of Texas.
A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Trinity Reformed Cemetery, Glen Rock.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013.
