Ronald E. Karper

Ronald E. Karper, age 81 years, of Carlisle died on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at the Shippensburg Health Care Center with his wife at his side. He was born in Carlisle, PA on November 5, 1939 to the late Harry I. and Ella Mae Boldosser Karper.
Ronnie retired as an electrician who had worked over 50 years out of the IBEW Local #143 in Harrisburg, PA. He was a life member of the Mt. Holly Springs Fish and Game Association. He was a graduate of Carlisle High School Class of 1959. Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and watching the deer and turkey in his backyard. His loving family meant the most to him.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor L. Keck Karper, Carlisle, three sons, Ronald E. Karper, Jr, (wife Helen), Carlisle, Douglas W. Karper, Richfield, PA, Troy A. Karper (companion Beth), Carlisle, and his sister, Rosemary Smith, Roanoke, VA. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Karper, three brothers, Wayne, Harry Irvin and Robert Karper and his sister Shirley Myers.
Private funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in the Westminster Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Ronnie’s name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Ste #100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Rd. Carlisle, PA 17013.
