Ronald Coover, 80, of Carlisle, died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Life Care Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
Born April 9, 1933 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Raymond Sr. and Anna Catherine Wrobleski Coover.
He was formerly employed by the Sun Shine Flag Car Service, Hershey. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Ron's hobbies included bowling, golf, fishing, and poker playing. He was an avid Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirate fan. While he resided at Claremont Home he was fondly known as the "Puzzelman".
Surviving are his wife, Toi W. Coover; three daughters, Wendy Lungari (and husband, David) of Mechanicsburg, Vicki Montgomery-Williams (and husband, Dan) of Mechanicsburg; and Cathy Johns (and husband, Rick) of Fredricksburg, VA; one son, Lonny Coover of Kissimmee, FL; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Jamie Scott Coover; one brother, Raymond, Jr.; and one sister, Mildred Coover; and one son-in-law, Jacob Montgomery, Jr.
A celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the multi-purpose room in the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 1000 Claremont Drive, Carlisle with Chaplain James Link officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
At the family's request, contributions may be made to the Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA 17013 to assist the family with funeral expenses.
