Roger G. Fahnestock, Sr.

Roger G. Fahnestock, Sr., 69, of Carlisle, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Health South Rehabilitation Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
Born March 29, 1941 in Carlisle, he was a son of the late Nellie Fahnestock.
He retired from the former Leer Corporation, Carlisle after more than 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. Roger received great joy from spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are one daughter, Tammy Hutchinson (and husband, Alan) of Newville; two sons, Roger G. Fahnestock, Jr. (and wife, Allenna) of Newville and Wade A. Fahnestock, Sr. (and his wife, Susan) of Shippensburg; four grandchildren, Avery Hyser, Shannon Fahnestock, Wade A. Fahnestock, Jr. and Elizabeth Fahnestock and two great-grandchildren, Isaiah Hyser and Aris Hyser. He was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Belles.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Harry G. Madison officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Churchtown. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
