Robin Wilt

August 27, 1956 — October 25, 2024

Carlisle

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of a one of a kind; husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Robin Wilt, born August 27, 1956 lost his battle on October 25, 2024 after complications from a lung transplant, but not before putting up a valiant fight. He lived a full life and we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace and riding pain free.

Robin was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, he dedicated himself to his country both in uniform and through a 44-year and 7-month federal career with the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP). Retiring in January 2020, his career was defined by unwavering dedication, professionalism, and a commitment to mission success. Robin’s contributions were essential to the successful transition of NAVSUP Global Logistics Support to NAVSUP Headquarters. He not only demonstrated his passion for leadership and service by training and mentoring new employees, he also chaired the installation's POW/MIA program, honoring our nation's service members with tireless dedication for 32 years.

Beyond his career, he was actively involved in several local organizations including the Carlisle Moose Lodge Post 761, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Post 1299, American Legion Post 298, Amvets Post 274, The Carlisle Club, and was a life member of the VFW Post 477. He served as a member of the Honor Guard since his retirement in 2020. He was also a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Breezewood and Universal Life Church Ministries.

Robin was a dedicated member of the Viet Nam Vets Motorcycle Club for 38 years, serving in various roles over the years, including Regional, State, and Chapter Secretary, as well as Treasurer of LZ Independence. He not only loved his Brothers & Sisters in the club; he held them in the highest regard and was always there to lend a helping hand.

He is lovingly survived by his wife and best friend, Jackie Wilt, of Carlisle; his daughter Tera (Saylor) Tilden, and two grandsons, Scott and Caleb Tilden, of Newville; his daughter Kathy (Mrljak) Miller and son-in-law, Sam Miller, of Palmyra. He is also survived by his mother, Vera Wilt, of Breezewood; his sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Robert Appleby, and his brother and sister-in-law, Bryan and Pamela Wilt, along with his nephew, Mathew Wilt, all of Everett, PA. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Louis Wilt.

In Robin's honor, we remember a life of selfless service, love for his family, and commitment to his friends and community. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gift of Life Howie's House, 401 Callowhill St, Philadelphia, PA 19123. This organization was instrumental in supporting our family while our father was in the hospital, and we will be forever grateful.

A memorial service will be held at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W Trindle Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013, on November 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Celebration of life to follow at the VFW Post 477, 2104 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013.
