Roberta (Bobbie) Vincett

Roberta "Bobbie" Adams Vincett, 81, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at her home.
Born July 2, 1932 in Jerseytown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Naomi Welliver Adams.
She was a graduate of Millville High School, Thompson Business School, and Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. She managed the Social Work Agency Counseling and Care of Pennsylvania. She was a social worker all of her life helping children and an active member of The Prison Society. Bobbie was active in the development of Plans for the present Cumberland County Prison, an active participant in Poverty Program and Race Relationships and Housing Program of Carlisle. She was a previous member and Deacon of The United Church of Christ. She was a present member of the United Unitarian Church of Cumberland Valley. She actively protested involvement in the Vietnam War and marched for Civil Rights. She was an active participant in the Democratic Party and League of Women Voters and a strong supporter of Barack Obama. She was an avid bridge player. Bobbie was an endless reader of religion and spirituality and loved by all, especially her dog, Maxwell.
Surviving are her husband of fifty-five years, Dr. Kenneth Vincett of Carlisle; three children, Elizabeth Vincett-Fourlas, Scott Vincett, and Jeffrey Vincett all of Carlisle; seven grandchildren, George N. (and wife, Elena Cuffari), Alethea B., Kenneth, and Thomas Fourlas, Michael and Joseph Vincett, and Jessica Erickson all of Carlisle; and one great-granddaughter, Seneca Jade Vincett. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Adams and son-in-law, Nickolas Fourlas.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2014 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Aija Simpson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made the Unitarian Universalist Church of Cumberland Valley, 2 Forge Road, Boiling Springs, PA 17007.
