Robert V. Waggoner

Robert V. Waggoner, 84, of Newville, died Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Carlisle Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center.

Born in Mechanicsburg, he was the son of the late John and Eva (Keller) Waggoner and the husband of 54 years to the late Judy (Barrick) Waggoner, who passed in 2024.

Robert worked as a mechanic for over 28 years for Ernest Shover Farm Equipment, Carlisle and also for John Gleim Excavating until 1992.

He enjoyed farming, riding ATV’s and repairing and restoring tractors.

Robert is survived by his children: Troy Waggoner, of Newville, Tina Smith, her husband, Jason, of Mechanicsburg, Tony Waggoner, his wife, Ellen, of Chambersburg; his nine grandchildren as well as his sisters: Lorena “Teenie” Shaffner and Carolyn (Lee) Dove.

He was preceded in death by his brothers: John Waggoner and Charles Waggoner and his sisters: Jean Farrence and Betty Fortney.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, Carlisle and also Thursday, February 27 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the funeral home. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday with interment to follow in Letort Cemetery, Carlisle.
