Robert W. "Bob" Smith

Robert W. "Bob" Smith, age 75, of Gardners, PA passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, PA.
He was born on December 19, 1940 in Newville, PA to the late Herman David and Lucy Catherine Negley Smith.
Bob was a longtime employee of C. H. Masland & Sons and manager of the former Bowen Supply. He retired form Knouse Foods after more than 25 years of service. He was a member of Christian Life Community Church. He loved hunting and fishing, his Corvette, and tinkering around the house.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce Ann Fickes Smith of Gardners; three children, Lisa Smith, Robert H. Smith and Stephanie Smith, all of Carlisle; four sisters, Catherine Hill of DE, Shirley (and husband Wally) Boyd of Newville, Patsy Souders of Newburg and Arlene (and husband Richard) Eberly of Newburg; numerous nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Donna C. (and husband Howard) Barrick of Newville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a brother, Richard D. Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Pastor Steve Gibb officiating. Burial will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Newville. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
