Robert W. "Bob" Gornik

Robert W. “Bob” Gornik, 76, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully in his home while surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 12, 2018.
He was born September 2, 1942 in Harrisburg to the late Louis and Catherine (Rahatina) Gornik.
Bob was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and VFW Post 477 both in Carlisle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara A. Gornik of Carlisle; three daughters, Tina Marie Smith of Valdosta, GA, Melissa Therese (husband Giancarlo) Rossi of Edmond, OK, and Erica Suzanne (husband Jeramy) Shaut of Orlando, FL; eight grandchildren, Kate Gornik Johnson, Britney Smith, Angelina, Victoria, Emilia and Quentin Rossi, Alexander and Nathaniel Shaut; and two sisters, Theresa Dabling and Pauline Breski. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by three brothers, Louis Jr., William and Albert Gornik and two sisters, Genevieve Ozimac and Catherine Botchie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive Carlisle, PA with Rev. Joshua Cavender as celebrant. Burial will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A viewing will be held from 10:30am until the time of the service on Thursday at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bob to American Cancer Society, Harrisburg Making Strides Against Breast Cancer P. O. Box 897 Hershey, PA 17033 or Celtic Hospice and Home Health 220 Wilson Street Suite #100 Carlisle, PA 17013.
