Robert L. “Buck” Keck, 81, of Newville, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, April 3, 2021.
He was born January 13, 1940 in Carlisle to the late Cyrus and Ruth (Wrightstone) Keck and he was the widower of Mary Ann (Robinson) Keck who passed in 1996.
Robert was a member of Moose Lodge 761, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1299, and the White Circle Club all in Carlisle. He was employed by Carlisle Tire and Wheel for 42 years before his eventual retirement. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and camping. He was always happiest when he was spending time with his family or when his guitar was in his hand. Robert was a founding member, vocalist, guitarist, and the last surviving member of Nite Life. He was a local country music legend.
Robert is survived by three loving children, Karon M. (husband Anthony) Conrad of Shermansdale, Robert C. Keck of Newville, and Jeffrey L. Keck of Shippensburg; one sister, Vonnie Nisley of Plainfield; and two grandchildren, Noelle Diane Keck of North Carolina and Wendy L. Keck. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Mae and Jackie; one brother, Richard; two grandchildren, Amber Leigh and Robert L. Keck; and a daughter-in-law, Bonnie L. Keck.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will be at Westminster Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held from 10:00am – 12:00pm on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the funeral home. As mandated by Governor Wolfe maximum capacity during gatherings is restricted and you may be asked to wait at the door when you arrive until the numbers allow for your entrance.
