Robert Joseph Lilley

Robert Joseph Lilley, 75, passed away on July 24, 2016, at his home with his family by his side.

Born on August 20, 1940, in Framingham, MA, he was a son of Robert and Phyllis (Slamin) Lilley.
Mr. Lilley was a 1962 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a 1968 graduate of Northwestern University with a Master's Degree in History. Robert served a full military career in Military Intelligence, reaching the rank of Colonel before retiring. He served from Hawaii to Africa, serving two tours of duty in the Vietnam War in between. He retired from the Pennsylvania Medical Society as a Director after 15 years of service. Member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sophia (Graniela) Lilley, a daughter, Lisa Lilley Haddad and her husband Rafat, Corinth, TX, two sons, Robert P. Lilley, Rochester, NY and Shawn P. Lilley, Shiremanstown, a brother, James W. Lilley and his wife Maureen, Upton, MA, and his beloved granddaughters, Gianna Lilley Haddad and Hanna Lilley Haddad. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lilley

There will be a viewing from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday July 28, 2016 in the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, PA with Father Don Bender as celebrant. Friday's mass will be preceded by a viewing from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the church. Interment, with full military honors, will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
