Robert C Heisner, Jr.

Robert C. Heisner, Jr., of Carlisle, passed away on January 22, 2024 at his residence while surrounded by his loving family at the age of 81. Born in Chester, PA on July 25, 1942, he was the son of the late Robert Calvin Heisner, Sr. and the late Ann Nevins Heisner. He was the husband of the late Beatrice Winchell Heisner and Margaret “Peggy” Myers Heisner.

He served as a tech sergeant in Thailand at the beginning of the Vietnam Conflict, and was later stationed in Hawaii, Montana, and Germany until he retired with 23 years of Air Force service. He later worked for 26 years at the U.S. Army War College, Carlisle in supply until retiring in 2008. During retirement, he was a driver for Carlisle Cadillac.

He was also an avid Price is Right fan.  He was a skilled bowler with six 300 games, one 299 game, and one 298 game to his credit, and an impressive series of 785.  

Robert danced on American Bandstand and traveled the United States to ride the newest of roller coasters.

Surviving with his wife Peggy are one sister, Jacqueline Robinson (Jack) of Wilmington, DE; one son, Robert Heisner (Claudia) of Mechanicsburg; three daughters, June Carrasco ( “Mike”) of San Jose, CA; Laurie Needham (David) of Woodland Park, CO; and Cheryl Lynn Johnston of Harrisburg. Also surviving are four stepchildren including Darin Peckham (Claire) of Prescott, AZ; Cheryl Kay Miranda (Humberto) of Harrisburg; Ginger Moll of Enola; and Michael Moll of Carlisle. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jordan Johnston and a sister, Veronica “Nancy” Straub.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28 at Hoffman Funeral and Cremation, Ltd., 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to Residential Hospice of Carlisle-Mechanicsburg, 900 Century Drive, Suite 201, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055
