Robert H. Royer

Robert H. Royer, age 83, of Carlisle, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Hershey Medical Center, under Compassionate Care Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.
Born September 16, 1934, in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Israel and Esther (Trimmer) Royer.
Bob was a graduate of Carlisle High School, class of 1952. Bob was a businessman, owning Royer’s Gulf Service Station, and running it for over 50 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren in Carlisle, where he was a leader, former church board member, deacon, choir member, and held offices in the church district. Bob loved his church!
Bob is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Addanell (Woods) Royer; a sister, Miriam Robbins (and husband Jim), of Fort Wayne, IN; daughters Pamela Lebo (and husband Mike) of Carlisle, Wendy Murray (and husband Mike) of Boiling Springs, Linda Kulp (and husband Luke) of Carlisle; and a son, Robert Scott Royer (and wife Krystine) of Carlisle.
Also surviving are: six grandchildren, Nathan Lebo (and wife Natalie), Sommar Damiter (and husband Gary), Thomas Murray (and wife Shawn), James Murray, Steven Kulp, and Ian Royer; two step-grandchildren, Sullivan Mundis and Eliza Stull; seven great-grandchildren, Thomas Damiter, Andy Damiter, Taylar Lebo, Paulina Lebo, Luke Lebo, Quinn Murray, and Owen Murray; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by: two sisters, Esther Smith of Carlisle, and Mary Ellen Sipple of Camden, NJ; and one brother, Israel E. Royer of Mechanicsburg.
The celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at First Church of the Brethren, 1340 Forge Road, Carlisle, PA 17013, with Reverend Jan Custer officiating. Interment will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s honor to First Church of the Brethren, at the address listed above.
