Robert George Donald

Robert George Donald, 62, of Carlisle died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at M. S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born January 26, 1951, he was a son of the late George and Christine Jones Donald.
Robert attended Thiel College and Montgomery County Community College. He was a member of Who's Who among Junior Colleges. He enjoyed writing and served as an Editor of the Montgazette and The Tinicum Bulletin. He worked for the U. S. Postal Service and recently was self-employed as a painter. He was an avid watchdog of politics and gladly fought for worthy causes throughout his life.
He is survived by one sister, Eleanor Alspaugh (and husband, Stephen) of Carlisle; one sister-in-law, Patricia Donald of New Britain; and was a devoted uncle, lovingly referred to as Uncle Skunkle and loved by his nieces, nephews; and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce R. Donald.
Memorial services will be held January 27 at 7 pm at Grace Baptist Church, 777 West North Street, Carlisle with Rev. David Campbell officiating. A second service will be held on February 1 at 2 pm at New Britain Baptist Church, 22 East Butler Avenue, New Britain with Rev. James Sutton officiating. Visitation will be held following the services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
