Robert George Bates

Robert George “Bobby” Bates, 77, of Carlisle, died on Friday. September 6, 2019 at the Carolyn House (Hospice of Central PA), Harrisburg, PA.
He was born on February 5, 1942 in Hershey, PA to the late Robert Maurice and Sarah Ruth Good Bates.
Bobby retired as a teamster’s union truck driver for the former Carolina Freight in Carlisle. He enjoyed collecting model trains and coins. But most of all he enjoyed the time he spent with his extended family and his four-legged family too!
He is survived by his loving wife Nancy L. Stockton Bates of Carlisle, a son, Robert G. “Bob” Bates, Jr., of Elizabethtown and a granddaughter, Danielle L. Bates of Elizabethtown.
According to Bob’s wishes cremation services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Bob’s name may be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013.
