Robert Eugene Eby

Robert Eugene Eby, age 82 of Carlisle, PA died Saturday, January 7, 2023, at UPMC Carlisle.

He was born March 22, 1940, in Mt. Joy, PA to the late George E. Jr. and Maude M. (Balmer) Eby.

Bob was a graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School and Williamsport Technical Institute. He worked at EI DuPont until the time of his retirement. Bob was a member of Bedford Valley Bible Church. Since moving to Carlisle, he was mentored by Pastor Ed Roman of Carlisle Baptist Church. Bob’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, whittling, and scenic oil painting.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Myrtle (Miller) Eby of Carlisle, PA; daughter Cindy L. (husband John) Holsopple of Duncan, SC; son, Robert L. (wife Janise) Eby of New Bloomfield, PA; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Eby of West Point, TN; and one sister, Sara Lamping of Elizabethtown, PA. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, George E. Eby III and Leroy Eby.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Carlisle Baptist Church, 701 Walnut Bottom Road Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bob to Residential Hospice, 100 Sterling Parkway, Suite 110, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
