Robert A. Graver

Robert A. Graver, 91 of Plainfield, died Sunday March 6, 2011 in Thornwald Home, Carlisle.
Born September 7, 1919 in Westmoreland County, PA, a son of the late Ardell and Nellie Mitchell Graver and the widower of Martha Barrick Graver.
Bob had many different jobs including farming, coal mining and truck driver for T.C. Heishman. He was a weaver for the former C.H. Masland and Sons and was self employed as a newspaper distributor and carpenter. He was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Plainfield and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1299, Carlisle. He served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was an avid golfer and bingo player. Bob loved to travel and was in all 50 states.
He is survived by two sons, James Graver, Carlisle and Robert Graver II, St. Cloud, FL, two daughters, Doris Jones, Plainfield and Pat McKeehan, Carlisle, a brother, Boyd Graver, Gardners, two sisters, Helen Palmer, Ligonier and Betty Hood, Selinsgrove, thirteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren and seventeen great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Chester, Adrian, Fred and Allen and a sister, Bertha Critchfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday March 10, 2011 in the St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2070 Newville Road, Plainfield with the Rev. Jerri Morton and Rev. John L. Larson officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. There will be a viewing from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday in the Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle and from 10:00 am until the time of the service in the church Thursday.
