Richard L. Shultz, Sr.

Richard “Rib” Lee Shultz Sr.

Born June 9, 1947 in Shermans Dale, PA to John and Esther “Claira” (Dick) Shultz, “Rib” passed away June 26, 2023 at UPMC West Shore Hospital with his wife and sons by his side.

Richard is survived by his wife of 39 years, Eva (Sholly) Shultz, 4 sons: Chad (Tiffany) Herron, Richard A. Shultz, Christopher (Angela) Shultz, and Richard L. Jr (Crystal) Shultz, 7 grandchildren and 2 sisters: June McGowan and Shirley (Paul) Groce.

He was preceded in death by a brother: William Shultz, a sister: Ruth Henry and a grandson: Jamison Shultz.

Richard was a 1996 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School. He worked at various factory jobs throughout his life. Richard enjoyed camping and other outdoor activities, including hunting and throwing horse shoes. He also enjoyed watching old country and westerns, his favorite being Gunsmoke.

Richard was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service 1 PM Friday, June 30, 2023 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, where the family will greet guests after 12 PM prior to the service.
