Richard L. Kuykendall

July 3, 1940 — February 28, 2012

Mr. Richard Lee “Trickyâ€Â Kuykendall, 71, a resident of Franklintown, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, Fla., due to heart failure.

Mr. Kuykendall was born July 3, 1940, in Gettysburg to the late Harry Seymour and Margaret Viola (Decker) Kuykendall.

Dick and his wife were snow birds in Florida for 15 years and residents of Franklintown. He was a retired asphalt plant operator for Pennsy Supply in Fiddlers Elbow and a life member of the Franklintown Fire Company. He was a member of the Impact Ministries Church of Auburndale, Fla., and a member of Mountain Ridge Church in Franklintown. Also, he volunteered at Faith in Action Thrift Store in Winter Haven, Fla.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Marie Kuykendall; one son, Richard L. Kuykendall Jr.; two daughters, Suzanne M. Heilman and Barbara L. Eppley; three brothers, Stanley Kuykendall (and wife, Phyllis), Jerry Kuykendall (and wife, Toni) and David Kuykendall; two sisters, Shelby Bryan (and husband, Stewart) and Dorothy Stanley (and husband, John); nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald and Eugene; daughter-in-law, Beverly; and son-in-law, Barry.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Scott Hall, the Rev. Ken Landis and the Rev. Mike Hammer officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at the funeral home.
