Richard L. "Dick" Geib, Sr.

Richard L. “Dick” Geib, Sr., of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side.
He was born November 26, 1937 in Palmyra to the late Christian A. and Ada (Fasnacht) Geib.
Dick retired as a foreman from Kinney Shoe Manufacturing after over 40 years of service. He was the Assistant at Dolly’s Wash House in Carlisle for over 35 years. Dick was an avid hunter, enjoyed bird watching, wildlife and the “pretty women” who surrounded him, especially his wife “Hon”. Family meant the most to Dick and he loved his dog, Sparky.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Vicki L. Stum Geib, two sons, Richard L. Geib, Jr. and Michael D. (wife Brenda) Geib; a daughter, Sharon K. Bartlett; a step-daughter, Amanda K. (husband Michael) Hershey, all of Carlisle; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded by his first wife, Verna M. Geib; a daughter, Brenda L. Bartlett; a granddaughter, Wendy Jo Hill; six brothers; and five sisters.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 pm. until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dick’s memory may be made to the Susquehanna Service Dogs, 1078 Gravel Hill Road, Grantville, PA 17028.
