Richard L. "Butch" Myers, Jr.

Richard L. “Butch” Myers, Jr., age 67, of Plainfield, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Transitions at Claremont, Carlisle.
He was born October 21, 1949 in Carlisle to the late Richard L. and Rhoda (Steinour) Myers.
Butch worked most of his life in construction, including Grove & Grove, Myers Builders, Shane Construction, McCoy Bros., Carlisle Syntec, ECI Group and retiring from Dickinson College in 2014. He was a member of the Cumberland Valley Sportsman’s Club and the NRA.
He is survived by: his wife of nearly 30 years, Corrine L. Myers; son, Travis Myers; brother, Donald (wife Jane) Steinour; niece, Ketha (husband Paul) Ranck and children, Erica and Tony: brother-in-law, Donald Gentile; sisters-in-law, Mary Lea (husband Carl) Shenk, Sonia Myers and Beth (husband Robert) Stambaugh; nieces and nephews, Bobbi (husband Rick) Sullivan, Rachel Myers, Brandon Mentzer, Jessica (husband Paul) Wilson and John (wife Michelle) Weidner and their families. In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Gentile and sister-in-law, Sherry Myers.
Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Mira A. Hewlett officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the services.
