Richard J. Whistler

Richard J. Whistler, age 62, of Newville, PA, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born May 8, 1954 in Carlisle, PA, he was the son of the late Harry and Betty (Hair) Whistler.
Richard was a self-employed painter and was a member of Tree of Life Church where he served as Deacon.
Surviving are his wife, Kathryn (Herr) Whistler of Newville; and two sons, Jason (and wife Nicole) Whistler of Newville and Scott Whistler of Shippensburg.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Tree of Life Church, 50 K Street Carlisle, PA with Pastor David S. Herr officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. There will be a visitation Wednesday at the church from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
