Richard E. Beidel

Richard “Dickâ€Â Edward Beidel, 72, of Carlisle, beloved husband, father and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 29, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at home.

Born April 3, 1939, in Carlisle, he was the son of the late George William and Barbara Elizabeth Bridge Beidel.

He was a graduate of Carlisle High School, Class of 1958, and a member of the Elks BPO Lodge 578, Carlisle. He was an electrician with the IBEW Local Union 143. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Betsy Shaffer Beidel of Carlisle; two daughters, Donna Rosenberry (and husband, Jerry) of Shippensburg and Barbara Yashinsky (and husband, Bob) of Hershey; one son, Richard C. Beidel of Newville; four grandchildren, Jacob, Justin, and Amy Rosenberry and Taylor Beidel; two sisters, Nancy Reck of Hanover and Sylvia Zimmerman of Fannettsburg; and three brothers, William Beidel of Greason, James Beidel of Newville and David Beidel of Texas. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Beidel.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 3 at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1924 Ritner Hwy., Carlisle, with the Rev. Jeff Warner officiating.
