Richard Ray Brown, 87, of Mechanicsburg, passed Sunday February 16, 2025 at home surrounded by family. Dick was born on July 10th, 1937 in Monroe Township, PA to the late William S. Brown and Mary M. (Boyles) Brown.
Dick’s survivors include his wife of 64 years, Linda L. (Kramer) Brown; their three sons; Richard R. Brown, Jr. and his wife, Rena, of Mechanicsburg, James S. Brown and his wife, Vonda, of Mechanicsburg, and Michael L. Brown and his wife, Tammy, of Mechanicsburg along with his two sisters: Etta McCoy and her late husband, Norris, of Mechanicsburg and Marget Bricker and her husband, Robert, of Carlisle.
Above all else Dick enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his 7 grandchildren: Heather Hiester (Howard), Justin Brown (Danielle), Ryan Brown (Andrea), Matthew Brown, Shannon Carichner (Logan), Tiffany Brown, and Brandon Brown, and 6 great grandchildren: Gracie, Sadie, Harper, Warren, Luke, Amelia. Pap was a big part of their lives and enjoyed sharing and making memories while camping, hunting, and fishing. He was always there to support all their activities, from showing animals, attending school concerts, and countless sporting events.
Visitation with family and friends will be held from 9:00 until 10:00 am on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Trinity Global Methodist Church, 4 W. Main St, New Kingstown, PA 17072 and a celebration of Dick’s life will be held at 10:00 am. Immediately following services there will be an Honor Guard presentation located outside the church.
A funeral procession will follow after the Honor Guard presentation to Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or Trinity Global Methodist Church at the address above in Dick’s name.
