Rex Raymond Miller

Rex Raymond Miller, age 71, of Shermans Dale, Pa passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018 at UPMC-Pinnacle Harrisburg.
He was born December 3, 1946 in Shermans Dale the son of the late David Raymond and Hazel Catherine (Sheaffer) Miller.
He graduated from West Perry High School and from Harrisburg Barber College. He retired from Amstead Rail in Shiresmantown after 40 years of service. He had been a barber at the Perry County Prison and at Perry Village. Rex was a member of the Youngs United Methodist Church, and a member of the New Genesis Group and Cross Fires Singles Group in Carlisle. He enjoyed Penn State football, working in his lawn, watching NASCAR races and swinging on his front porch swing.
Rex is survived by his sister: Kathy Bridge and her husband Edward of Shermans Dale, his companion: Linda Nopson of Carlisle, a niece: Jan Beck and her husband Josh of Carlisle, a nephew Jed Bridge of Loysville, and two great-nephews: Levi and Sam Beck.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Youngs United Methodist Church, 101 Youngs Church Road, Shermans Dale, with Rev. Travis Allshouse, officiating.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle. A viewing will also be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 on Wednesday at the church.
Burial will be in the Youngs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
