Rev. Sidney O. Harris

Rev. Sidney O. Harris, 93, of Chapel Pointe at Carlisle and formerly of Southampton, NY died Saturday December 29, 2012 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born March 27, 1919 in New York City, NY he was a son of the late Sylvester and Mabel Peart Harris and the widower of Miriam A. Rhodes Harris.
He was a graduate of Nyack College, Nyack, NY. Sidney retired after serving as pastor for forty two years with the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. During these forty two years he was at churches in: Poughkeepsie, NY; Rome, NY; Wellsville, NY; Corning, NY; and Kingston, NY. Later in life Sidney and his wife moved to Chapel Pointe at Carlisle where he was Chaplain for sixteen years.
Surviving are two sons, Philip W. Harris and his wife Ellen of Plymouth Meeting and Robert A. Harris of Plaistow, NH; one daughter, Marjorie R. Nagle and her husband Jack of Willoughby, OH; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Sidney was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at 11:00am at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle with Rev. Walter L. Frankenberry officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 219 N. Hanover St. Carlisle, PA 17013.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sidney to Chapel Pointe at Carlisle, 770 South Hanover St. Carlisle, PA 17013.
