Rev. Paul E. Frye, Jr., age 69, of Shermans Dale passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born July 9, 1947 in Lucasville, OH to the late Paul E., Sr. and Nancy J. (Weaks) Frye.
Paul was a truck driver and driver training instructor for over 42 years. He retired from Swift Trucking, Jonestown, PA. He was a member and preacher at the Lighthouse Church in Newville for many years. Music and guitar playing were highlights in his life. Most of all, he loved the Lord and his loving family.
He is survived by: his wife of 48 years, Darla J. (Failor) Frye of Shermans Dale; a son, Paul E. III (wife Irene) Frye of Shermans Dale; a daughter, Bambi J. Frye of TX; a brother, Rev. James E. (wife Hattie) Frye of Ennis, TX; and two sisters, Debbie Frye and Ruthanne Foltz, both of IN; five grandchildren, Paul IV, Kattie, Wesley, Jordan and Jennifer; and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a brother, William Frye and a sister, Kathy Hart.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Lighthouse Church, 555 Mt. Rock Road, Newville, PA with Rev. James E. Frye and Rev. Craig Shambaugh co-officiating. Burial will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA with full military honors. There will be a viewing at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory to help defray the funeral expenses.
