Rev. Fred R. Yearsley

Rev. Fred R. Yearsley passed into the presence of his Lord, Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.
He was born July 26, 1929 in Forest Hills, PA to the late Fred I. and Helen (Page) Yearsley and the widower of Virginia McGarvey with whom he spent sixty-five years.
Following graduation in 1952 from St. Paul College, now Crown College, he dedicated his life to ministering in Christian and Missionary Alliance churches in: Greensburg, Cambridge Springs, Northeast, McKeesport and Phillipsburg, PA; Fairmont, WV; and Cleveland, OH. Fred was also elected to the Executive Committee of both the Western and Central Districts of the CMA in Pennsylvania.
He was known as a man of prayer as well as a very talented singer. His energetic manner and congeniality marked him as one who never met a stranger.
Fred is survived by Wilma “Jackson” Yearsley whom he married in 2014, three children; Paul David (and wife Donna) Yearsley of Fairmont, WV, Jolene Ruth (and husband David) Widlicka of Salem, OH and Mark Irwin Yearsley of Cleveland, OH, his sister; Lois Volstad of Cabot, sister-in-law; Carolyn Latshaw of Carlisle, two brothers-in-law; Richard (and wife Ella) McGarvey of Webster, NY and Paul Evans of Tarentum, eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and first wife, Rev. Yearsley was preceded in death by a newborn son, two brothers and his sister.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the Henry Memorial Chapel of Chapel Pointe at Carlisle, 770 S. Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA with the Revs. Walter Frankenberry, William Hazlett and Steve Motter officiating. Burial will follow at Letort Cemetery. There will be a viewing on Saturday at Chapel Pointe from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chapel Pointe Benevolent Fund, 770 S. Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA 17013.
