Raymond E. “Mo” Moser, age 79, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 23, 1937 in Pittsburgh to the late Ralph and Anna Jane (Murray) Moser and was the husband of Betty (Ludwig) Moser, to whom he was lovingly married for 60 years.
Raymond, also known as “Pop Pop”, retired from Naval Support Activity, in Mechanicsburg, at which he worked for 35 years, reaching the title of Supervisor. Prior to that, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. In his free time, he was an avid Civil War buff, with a “war room” displaying his collection of Civil War paraphernalia. Raymond was a dedicated supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, but also of Carlisle High School football and basketball. Conway Twitty music and golf had a place in his heart. His greatest pleasure was taking care of “His Girls”, and he always had a soft spot for the family dogs.
He is survived by: his wife, Betty Moser; daughters Karen Ponzar (and husband Jerry), and Sharon Diehl (and husband Rodger, Jr.); brothers James, and Terry “Cy” Moser (and his wife Jenny); granddaughter Skylar Diehl; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by: brothers, Samuel, and Ronald Moser; and sister-in-law Marianne Moser.
