Randall (Randy) A. Wert, 36, of Newville, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013.
Born July 17, 1977 in Carlisle, he was a son of Elvis P. and Pamela S. Holtry Wert.
He worked as a certified welder for Cleland Custom Welding and also worked for Triboro Construction, Wert's Hauling, and Agars Welding. Randy worked for various Amish carpenters in the area. Just recently he started to work in the logging industry. Randy liked woodworking, hunting, archery and spending time with his children. Randy loved to play volley ball. He always had to be busy.
Surviving are his wife of nine years, Kimberly Orris Wert of Newville, son, Allen Wert and daughter, Naomi Wert, both at home. In addition to his parents he is survived by one brother and two sisters, Angela Redcay (and companion, Averil Rhoades) of Carlisle, Rodney Wert (and wife, Heather) of Newburg, and Aimee Meier (and husband, Jason) of Carlisle and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Also surviving are maternal grandparents, Eber and Thelma Holtry of Newville. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents James and Mary Wert and Uncle Petey Holtry.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2013 at McClures Gap Church of God, 120 Church of God Road, Newville with Rev. Robert Stauffer officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the church.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to Kimberly Wert and mailed to Orrstown Bank, 427 Village Drive, Carlisle, PA 17015 for the benefit of his children.
