Ralph W. Manweiler, 90, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Church of God Home with his loving family by his side.
He was born July 13, 1928 in Albany, NY to the late Arthur and Marjorie (Barden) Manweiler.
Ralph graduated from Milne High School in 1945 and received a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1946 to 1948. After his discharge, he began working as a manager for Agway. In 1974, he started A-1 Vending, Inc. which is still owned and operated by family. He retired in 1984 from Agway as a manager. He loved his job and the employees he managed. In 1991, he purchased the Carlisle Agway franchise.
Ralph was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Range End Golf League, Carlisle Country Club, and the Elks Lodge 578.
Ralph had a true passion for golf. He also held a pilot’s license and belonged to the local plane club. He enjoyed working in his back yard and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Delores (Trostle) of Carlisle; four children; Rodney and wife Uli, Duff and wife Debra, Jeffrey and companion Diana, and Jan Braxton and husband Charles; son-in-law, James Stull; step-children, Robert Clements and wife Dawn and Audra Sadler and husband James; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Gail Stull and sister, Joan Robinson.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 647 Forge Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Bruce Fensterbush officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ralph to Otterbein United Methodist Church or the Alzheimers Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
