Ralph Ernest Negley, Jr., 75, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away quietly among family at his home in North Middleton Twp on Thursday, July 12th, 2012. He was born February 9, 1937 in Newville. His parents were the late Ralph E. Negley, Sr., Newville and Mary E. Sheaffer, Carlisle. He retired as partner of Carlisle Electronics, Inc. after previously working for Carlisle Radio (Trader Walt) for 21 years. Hunting, fishing, bowling, and water skiing were among his favorite sports. He was a lifetime member of Carlisle Fish & Game Assoc., former 4-H Horse and Pony Club Leader, Carlindian Barbershop Chorus member, Master Gardener and Church Usher. He traveled to all 50 States and several countries.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sylvania Shughart Negley; two daughters Wanda (and husband Steven) Galbraith, Mechanicsburg; Brenda (and husband James) Miller; and son Roger Negley, both of Carlisle; three grandchildren Andrew Negley, Ryan (and wife Darbie) Miller and Kayla Miller; a sister Evelyn (and husband Henry) Newlin of Liverpool. He was preceded in death by a brother Ray of W. Warwick, R.I.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Grace United Methodist Church, West and Pomfret Sts. Carlisle with Revs. Jim VanZandt and Sharonn Halderman officiating. Viewings will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday July 17, 2012 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 North Hanover St. and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle, at the convenience of the family.
