Phyllis V. Schantzen Snavely, 85, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Claremont Rehab and Nursing Center, Carlisle.
She was born on July 27, 1929 in Harrisburg to the late John and Lorma Harry Hartz.
Phyllis retired as a custodian for East Pennsboro School District. She also worked for the Cameron Dress Company and at the Department of State as a custodian. She enjoyed playing bingo, singing along with old tunes, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia J. (and husband David) Long of Marysville and Deborah K. (and husband Barry) Myers of Carlisle; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Vearl Allander, June Kern and Joyce Saltsburg; brothers, Everett Hartz and Chester Sheaffer; and a step-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the services.
