Phyllis Durham, 83, of Carlisle died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Manor Care of Carlisle.
Born November 20, 1930 in Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Deemer L. and Hazel M. Shearer Heberlig.
Phyllis enjoyed crafts especially sewing. She attended Otterbein United Methodist Church, Boiling Springs. She enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and camping. She enjoyed hosting and preparing family dinners, but her greatest joy was found with her family. A loving wife, mother, and doting grandmother her passing will be a huge loss because she was a great gift.
Surviving are her husband of sixty-seven years, John Durham of Carlisle; three sons, Deemer Durham (and wife, Mary Kay) of Carlisle, J. Mitchell Durham (and wife, Melanie) of Mechanicsburg, and Brent Durham (and wife, Mary Anne) of Newville; six grandchildren: Gregory, Jeffrey, Jonathan, Kathryn, Joshua, and Tyler; and two great-grandchildren, Henry and Gabriel. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Daniel Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2014 and on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
