Pauline F. Clair, 83 of Newville, died Sunday, August 31, 2014 in the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.
Born May 15, 1931 in Carlisle, the daughter of the late Donald and Anna Derr Gordon and the widow of the late Marlin E. Clair.
Pauline was married to the late Marlin "Dude" Clair for 57 years. She retired from Giant Food Stores after 30 years of employment. Mrs. Clair was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church, Carlisle.
Surviving are two daughters, Cathy M. Dupert, and husband Kenneth, Newville and Barbara S. Purdey, of Springfield, MO, a sister, Irene Ludt, of Carlisle, two half-sisters, Annie Rummel, Carlisle and Dorothy Beamer, Mt. Holly Springs, two half-brothers, Dale Shughart, Plainfield and Richard Shughart, Carlisle, two grandsons, Brian Drake and Jerry Purdy. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Wilson and Mary Hollenbaugh, a half-brother, George Shughart, two half sisters, Betty Rhoads, and Doris Jean Shughart.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens. There will be no viewing or visitation.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home and Crematory, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle is handling the arrangements.
