Paul W. Baker

Paul W. Baker, 73, of Boiling Springs, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Penn State Hampden Hospital.

He was born December 6, 1949, in Carlisle to the late Jacob H. Sr. and Virginia P. (Adams) Baker. Paul was the widower of Nancy K. (Mountz) Baker to whom he was married for 41 years when she passed away in March of 2009.

Paul retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission after 20 years of employment. His love for driving trucks led him to work for Crow Trucking in Elizabethtown and for Allen Distribution where he worked for the last 10 years and was still currently employed. Paul honorably served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Era.  Paul was a very generous man who never denied a request for help or passed by someone who seemed to be in need. 

He is survived by one brother Jacob H. Baker Jr. of Carlisle; and eight nieces and nephews, Laverne Baker Jr., Jeffrey Baker, Edward Baker, Cherie Marie McDowell, Lynette Lively, Christopher Baker, Vonda K. Baker, and Stephen E. Myers. In addition to his parents and his loving wife, Paul was preceded in death by two brothers, William Baker and Laverne Baker Sr.; one sister, Emma L. Yocum; and one sister-in-law, Audrey L. Baker.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013 with Pastor Jeremy Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at Letort Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Paul to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, WV 25438.
