Paul R. Whistler

Paul R. Whistler, 84, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born January 24, 1930 in Penn Township, he was a son of the late Harry M. and Maude Kelso Whistler and the widower of Catherine L. Brown.
He was a graduate of Carlisle High School, Class of 1947. He was a retired farmer of the Whistler Farm. He also retired from South Hampton Township Department of Quality Control. He was a member of the Huntsdale Church of the Brethren; a member of the Carlisle Special Police; and a life member of Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company. He was an avid bowler, bowling in the Continental League at the Midway Bowling. Paul enjoyed listening to live "Bluegrass" Music and he was an avid sports fan of the Baltimore Orioles.
Surviving are one daughter, Cindia K. Whistler of Carlisle. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Paul R. Whistler, Jr.; one daughter, Shirley L. Provost and two brothers, Guy and Clark Whistler.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2014 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Robert W. Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in Huntsdale Church of the Brethren Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
