Paul R. “Bud” Miller, age 90, of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Thornwald Home, Carlisle.
He was born January 12, 1927 in Boiling Springs to the late Glenn and Belva (Kurtz) Miller and was the widower of Esther V. (Cline) Shenk Miller.
Bud was a 1947 graduate of Boiling Springs High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Bud was co-owner/operator of Miller and Shenk, Inc. Heating Service, Mt. Holly Springs. He was a member of: the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #1299; the Boiling Springs VFW, Post #8851, where he was one of the founding members; the Cumberland Star Lodge #197, F&AM; the Boiling Springs Investment Club; the Masonic camping Club; and the Carlisle First Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by: three step-sons, Lee Shenk, Carl (wife Mary Lea) Shenk and Harold (wife Virginia) Shenk, all of Carlisle; a sister, Jean Brehm of Carlisle; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Paul was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Miller; a sister, Beulah Miller; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Shenk.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Pastors Jim and Marla Abe co-officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 pm. on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Boiling Springs. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
