Paul Metz

Paul R. Metz, 83, a resident of Thornwald Home, Carlisle for the past eight years and formerly of Perry County, returned to his Heavenly Father and grandson Travis on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 in the home.

Born Dec. 29, 1928, the son of the late Harry and Emily Simonton Metz.

Paul retired from PP&L in 1990 after 45 years of service and was a US Army Veteran serving in Germany during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Newport.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth, three daughters, Susan Metz and her husband Ron Reeder, Harrisburg, Louise Ann Metz and her companion, Mary Gibson, Carlisle and Teresa Cauffman and her husband Earl, Millerstown and a grandson, Phillip Cauffman, two sisters, Sara Hipple and her husband Bob, and Shirley Rowe, Marysville and a brother Harry Metz and his wife Nora, Newport.

No services will be held at this time.

Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Activity Fund at Thornwald Home, 442 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle PA 17013.
