Paul H. Woods

Paul H. Woods, age 91, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Claremont Nursing & Rehab Center.
He was born on June 29, 1924 in Carlisle to the late George Loy and Lettie Holler Woods and was the widower of the late Elma M. Crull Woods who passed on June 16, 2014.
Paul worked as a security guard for a number of local businesses. He was also a farmer on his family farm and his father's farm for many years.
He is survived by his son, Mark (and wife Kelly) Woods of Carlisle; five daughters, Margaret (and husband Donald) Hummel of Carlisle, Barbara (and husband Richard) Rothermel of Millersburg, Kathleen (and husband Gary) Dillman of Newville, Elizabeth Ann (and husband Jack) Mellott of Gardners and Lisa (and husband Steve) Hair of Carlisle; two sisters, Esther Goodyear and Helen Dum, both of Carlisle; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, Paul was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and William Woods and a sister, Romaine Ilgenfritz.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Pastor David J. Schreffler officiating. Interment will be at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2106 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Rock United Methodist Church, 598 Mt. Rock Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.
