Paul H. “Doc” Gutshall, age 86, of Carlisle, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 7, 1930 in Carlisle to the late Edward M. and Fannie (Weary) Gutshall.
Doc served his country honorably in the Marines during the Korean War. He enjoyed bowling, hunting and was involved in the Boy Scouts program at First United Church of Christ where he was a member. He was a lifetime member of Carlisle Fish and Game and past Treasurer of the Carlisle Springs Cemetery Association.
He is survived by: a sister, Lorraine (husband J. Paul) Strock; nieces, Barb, Shirley, Patti and Kathy; and nephews, Ken (wife Trudy), Gary (wife Joyce), Roger and William. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by brothers, Ken Gutshall, Sr., Glenn Gutshall and Stanley Gutshall, sister, Gayle Hollenbaugh and nephew, Robert Gutshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017 at First United Church of Christ, 30 N. Pitt Street, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Chris Schwab officiating. Burial will follow at Carlisle Springs Cemetery, Carlisle, PA. There will be a visitation at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
