Paul F. "Fred" Brewbaker, Sr., age 74, of Carlisle, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA.
He was born February 14, 1942 in Carlisle to the late Paul R. and Evelyn (Piper) Brewbaker.
Fred graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in 1960 and then proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1985, including multiple tours in Vietnam. He then worked for the United States government in Colorado Springs, CO until his retirement in 2005. Fred married his high school sweetheart, Jean Moore, on June 24, 1961. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved fishing, camping and traveling. He also enjoyed reading and working on genealogy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean E. (Moore) Brewbaker of Carlisle; two sons, Paul F. (and wife Brenda L.) Brewbaker, Jr. of Midwest City, OK and Mark L. (and wife Jessica E.) Brewbaker of Carlisle; two daughters, Ruth E. Ledin of Layton, UT and Debra E. Brewbaker (and husband Wade A. Labrecque) of Jericho, VT; a brother, Kenneth Brewbaker of Carlisle; three sisters, Betty Gipe of Everett, Mary Kay Brewbaker of Mechanicsburg and Cheryl Webber of Carlisle; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Randall C. Ledin and two infant daughters, Mary Ann and Mary Ellen.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 216 Skyline Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA with Bishop Matthew Candland officiating. Burial will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA with full military honors. There will be a viewing from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA.
