Paul Albert "Buzz" Cohick

Paul Albert “Buzz” Cohick, age 89, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
He was born September 6, 1929 in Carlisle to the late Albert and Hester (Negley) Cohick.
Albert is survived by his six children, Paul A. (wife Joann) Cohick Jr., Carol A. (husband Jay) Crist, Curtis L. Cohick (Brenda Desimone), Linda L. (husband Bruce) Long, James C. (wife Christine) Cohick and Lisa L. (husband Andrew) Pettit; two sisters, Beulah Baer and Agnes Miller; and nine grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his loving wife Virginia who passed away in 2015.
Albert met Virginia Bowermaster at Savannah School, a one-room schoolhouse, in Dickinson Township. They became an inseparable couple who were married in 1950.
Farming was always an important part of his life. He was raised on a dairy farm and later worked his own hundred-acre farm in his spare time. Albert worked at Roadway Express until he retired. After his retirement he continued to work for Harrisburg Truck Body for another 13 years.
Albert joined the First E.U.B. Church in Carlisle as a child and was a life-long member of the congregation that is now Carlisle United Methodist Church. He later faithfully attended church services at Cumberland Crossings Retirement Community.
He leaves behind many friends and extended family. Buzz always had a big smile and friendly conversation for everyone. His sense of humor, kindness and generosity will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2019 at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013 with Rev. Judy L. Strayer officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday both at the funeral home.
