Patrick T. McAndrews, age 89, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at his residence.
He was born on March 15, 1926 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Michael and Mary K. Deane McAndrews.
Patrick received his Bachelor's degree from Catholic University of America and a Master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a former French and Spanish teacher at Aspinwall High School. Patrick was honored to be a Fulbright Scholar which allowed him to study language in France. He retired from SmithKline after 30 years. After his retirement, Patrick spent time doing the things he enjoyed: gardening, fishing, learning, traveling and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary F. Kargol McAndrews of Carlisle; a son, Kevin (and wife Isabelle) McAndrews of Fremont, CA; two daughters, Mary Frances McAndrews of Hummelstown and Annette (and husband Evan) Wynn of White Water, WI; three grandchildren, Michelle, Ian and Megan; and three siblings, Kathleen, Theresa and Joseph. He was preceded in death by three siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Shrine Church, 140 E. Pomfret Street, Carlisle, PA with the Very Rev. William C. Forrey officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family at St. Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery, Carlisle. There will be a viewing at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
