Oscar F. Sollenberger, 86, of Carlisle, died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born December 19, 1926 in Bloserville, he was a son of the late Frederick Samuel and Elsie Swartz Sollenberger.
He retired from Lear Corporation, formerly C. H. Masland & Sons after forty-five years of service. He was a former member of the Church of the Brethren, Newville. Oscar was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was a former hunter and loved traveling and spending time with his loving family.
Surviving are his wife, Doris V. Clelan Sollenberger of Carlisle; one daughter, Christine A. Cook (Howard) of Lakewood, CA; three sons, Steven M. Sollenberger (Robin) of Carlisle, Rodney K. Sollenberger of Carlisle, and Mark F. Sollenberger (Angela) of Craig, CO; one brother, Paul Sollenberger (Donna) of Carlisle; two sisters, Helen Vance of Carlisle and Annie Deitch (Richard) of Carlisle; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Floyd and one sister, Martha Mohn.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Pastor John F. Hess officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
