Oscar Eugene Hinkle

Oscar Eugene Hinkle, 90, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born September 25, 1928 in Carlisle, PA the son of he late Clyde Alburtna Hinkle and Edna Marie Mortorff. He married Jean E. Calaman on November 17, 1951.
Oscar retired as an Industrial Engineer with AMP Inc. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Navy Reserves. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church. He was a more than 50-year member of the Carlisle Lodge # 260, F & A M. He served as the Master of the Lodge in 1969, was a member of the Harrisburg Consistory, Valley of Harrisburg and the Zembo Shrine.
He enjoyed crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, Penn State and tending to his yard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jean E. Hinkle of Carlisle, three daughters: Sharon Hinkle of Carlisle, Judy Bushey and her husband Gordon of Dillsburg, PA and Betty Boldosser of Carlisle, three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: James E. Hinkle, his son-in-law: Ross A. Boldosser, five sisters and two brothers
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013, with the Rev. Joseph Kugle, officiating.
A viewing will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the Funeral Home.
Following the service, burial will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
