Norma M. Blain, age 79, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Forest Park Healthcare Center.
She was born in Carlisle on June 26, 1936 to the late Jacob S. and Mary E. Smith Ocker and was the widow of Donald M. Blain who passed in 2006 after being married for 51 years.
Norma and her husband had worked at the original Trindle Inn in Carlisle. She was a former member of the Carlisle Moose Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliaries of the Carlisle Eagles and White Circle Lodge. Norma loved to watch football, especially her Washington Redskins, but most of all, the time she spent with her loving family, her granddaughter, Heather and her husband Steve and her step-great-grandchildren, Anthony, Ashley and Alexis.
She is survived by three brothers, Larry (and wife Estelle) Ocker of Eugene, OR, Lester (and wife Doris) Ocker and Ronald Ocker, both of TX; a sister, Kay (and husband Fred) Roehrig of FL; and her granddaughter, Heather J. Martin, of Harrisburg, whom she raised after her mother's death. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Lois, Bernice, Evelyn, Leona and Dorothy and three brothers, Donald, Gary and Martin.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2015 at Westminster Cemetery. There will be a time for friends and family to share memories of Norma at 1:30 p.m. at Hoss's Restaurant, 1151 Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle, PA.
