Needa Amelia Rumberger, 93, of Cumberland Crossings, died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Cumberland Crossings, Carlisle.
She was born September 14, 1921 in Dalmatia, PA to the late Frank and Susan Bingaman Zeigler and was the widower of Garvin Boyd Rumberger.
Needa retired from the PA Department of Transportation Office in Carlisle and also from the Carlisle School District. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Carlisle. She enjoyed playing cards and was a founding member of the local Carlisle Card Club. Needa was a talented seamstress and enjoyed making quilts.
She is survived by two sons, Garvin Boyd (and wife Jill) Rumberger, Jr. of Carlisle and Rodney L. (and wife Joby) Rumberger of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren, Tara (and husband Greg) Bibb and their two children, Adelyn and Caden of Arlington, VA, Corey (and Sarah) Rumberger and their son Liam of Carlisle, Kaitlin Rumberger of Conshohocken, PA and Connor Rumberger of Mechanicsburg. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Rumberger, a son, Mike Rumberger and ten brothers and sisters.
Celebration of Life services will be held Friday, April 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at First United Church of Christ, 30 N. Pitt St., Carlisle with Rev. Chris Schwab officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Central PA, 2405 Park Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to her church, First United Church of Christ, 30 N. Pitt St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
