Neal E. Weirich, 63, of Middletown, Dauphin County, peacefully passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024 after suffering 12 years from a chronic illness.
He was born April 17, 1961 to the late Robert E. and Anna M. (Hursch) Weirich. Neal grew up near York Haven, graduated from Northeastern High School in 1980 and attended Shenandoah Music Conservatory. You may remember him from Keystone, Gaudenzia, Howard Tire and AT&T.
He not only was conscientious in his work, but also was known for his generosity, kindness, compassion and sense of humor. He touched many lives on his earthly sojourn.
His many interests included dancing, stained glass crafting, furniture refinishing, watching horror movies and hanging out with friends. He was proud to have remained sober for more than 30 consecutive years and hopes this will be an inspiration to others.
Neal is survived by his brother: Doug Weirich (Lissy), nephew: Joshua Weirich (Sophie Nyugen), grandnieces: Kirsten and Greta Weirich and grandnephews: Noah and Moses Johnson, all from Carlisle.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister: Evanne Weirich.
Since Neal donated his body to the Humanity Gift Registry for anatomical study and research, there will be no funeral. A celebration of life gathering is slated for some time in late Spring.
Memorial contributions in Neal’s name may be made to: American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601 or Humanity Gift Registry, 130 S. 9th Street, Suite 1550, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
